A dinner reception to mark the sixth anniversary of His Holiness Pope Francis was held at the Vatican Nunciature (Vatican Embassy), March 13. Penang to reward developers who build green

THE Penang government will reward developers of green buildings, state local government exco Jagdeep Singh Deo said. Developers with new buildings awarded the Green Building Index (GBI) gold or platinum rating before January 1, 2022, will receive a two-thirds rebate on the developmental charges they pay to local councils, he said. Pushing for more green buildings

DEVELOPERS whose projects have Green Building Index (GBI) certification in Penang will be eligible for rebates on assessment fees and development charges until 2021. Penang Island City Council (MBPP) mayor Yew Tung Seang said the rebates would be given only to buildings certified by the GBI Accreditation Panel (GBIAP) in the gold and platinum categories.
